Just Giving Them Away

I have two books more or less just laying around that I don't know what to do with. They are The China Syndrome by Burton Wohl and Volume One of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen by Alan Moore.

Both are in good condition, and The China Syndrome is registered at Book Crossing. I have no use or need for them anymore, so is anyone out there interested in having them? If you are, please let me know. I'll have them available until September 7 and run under the First Come, First Serve rule. Gotta make more room for other books!

Results From Long Days At Home

Due to the empty days proceeding the fall semester, I have found myself with an abundance of time to waste in a productive manner. I have decided to quietly pick tarot back up after a couple years break. Having no beautifully decorated wooden box to store my cards as I wanted due to budget constraints, I handmade some small bags to store my two decks.

One for the Rider-Waite, and one for the Gilded.

The one I made for the Rider-Waite deck was just a corner of a t-shirt cut and made to fit.

For the Gilded deck I just used some material I picked up at Walmart, one of those fat quarters they sell.

The stitching's a bit off because I don't have a sewing machine; I am the sewing machine, and I must admit I stabbed myself quite a few times while paying attention to the tv more than to where I was putting the needle, but I think they turned out okay, so I'm happy.

Second test for the Spotify play button; how is everyone liking it?

Trying Out Something New

Anyone else here use Spotify? I have been using their player and services for a while now and have decided to test drive their play button instead of using YouTube videos. I would really like people's feedback on whether it works for them, plays better, if you have any complaints, whichever one you prefer, whether you really care, etc, etc. Any (constructive) input will be helpful.

Here's a little dark organ music for the first test run.

Well Alrighty Then

Today is Cupcake Day. Unfortunately, I have no cupcakes. So, instead, here's a little metal for your Monday:

"Unsung" by Insomnium

And then later, a movie, via Crackle:

Layer Cake, starring Daniel Craig. I have no idea what this movie is truly about. All I know is that involves drugs and Daniel Craig.

Also, I'm being productive before noon.

Today is a good day.

He'd Have A Lot Of Nickels

"That's for ruining our son! He used to be a sweet boy until he heard your music!"
"Oh, this old story. If I had a nickel."

I got yelled at for listening to Marilyn Manson a few days ago while on vacation at the parents' house. Apparently, even though I'm an adult, I'm not allowed to listen to whatever I choose.

"...And stop watching that scary stuff. I cannot wait for you to get out of this phase."
"Mom, how long have I been in this 'phase'? Nearly my whole life?"
"......You need to see the light."

It was amusing and slightly frustrating at the same time. However, this Family Guy episode put me back in good spirits.

Ah, Netflix on demand is lovely.

At It Again

Halloween is about two and a half months away. I'm already preparing, starting with an $80 shopping "spree" and a lovely little badge from Countdown to Halloween.

I am quite excited. Halloween is almost here, meine droogs.

Had anyone else started planning already?

Vacation Time

At home with the family before the fall semester starts. Not much to do, although I came just in time for the local rodeo.

Ah, country roots.
