The Costume

I hope everyone has as fun of a Halloween as I did! Mine started with a viewing of Over the Garden Wall (a fantastic fall miniseries I just discovered; it has the perfect blend of childhood fun and creepiness),

which led into bar hopping with friends, and ended with me on a couch.

This was called the Witch's Broom. It was delicious.

My costume for the night:

Lydia Deetz, from Beetlejuice! Compete with the Handbook for the Recently Deceased and a camera.

I had fun, and I hope you did too. I must say, it was an all in all good Halloween!

In Case You Need Some Uber Creepiness To Brighten Your Day

Like, seriously uber creepy stop motion:

And for your pallet cleanser, a classic:

And a fun parody:

"You can't escape me, bitch!"
Ha, I love Freddy Krueger.

Two more days until Halloween!

Yet More Birthday Spoils

I am extremely happy to now have this in my hands. Vincent Price is one of my favorite actors, and now I have his story... via his daughter!

The Nightmare Before Christmas Monopoly and Trivia Pursuit... just in time for Halloween and Creepmas!

A Halloween Classic

Movie time! I got a childhood favorite this time.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

I really wish there was a full version of this song. It would easily be one of my most replayed.

The Smiling Man

Let me introduce you to a favorite of mine.

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Reddit. Surely some of you have come across it at some point; this is, after all, the internet. I, myself, drop in every once in a while, but am more apt to find Reddit content second hand via another site. While I can't remember where I originally saw this story (probably on Thought Catalog. Once in a while they'll gather stuff from Reddit for their Creepy Catalog), I have tracked down the original post here, as well as the subreddit here. This story isn't overtly scary, horrific, or terrifying, but it does have a creepy vibe to it, and I found myself thinking about it for weeks afterwards. Granted, this didn't stop my own night time ventures, but it still struck a cord.

And how happy was I when I found a YouTube short based on it?

Very happy.

A Tad Bit More Decorations

Obligatory 'Happy Halloween' signage.

I had to get a new pumpkin since my old one was broke during the move to my new apartment.

Needless to say, I think it will do just fine.

My Samhain tree, with a few more pumpkin and black glitter ornaments added.

Also acquired this awesome clay (I think) Jack o' Lantern to sit outside from the parents.

Also, my birthday was a couple days ago. This was the cake.

Oujia Board Spoils From Spirit Halloween

A coffee mug for that delicious dark roast...

Harley seems to have taken quite well to it. Here's to hoping she doesn't become possessed!

Decorations So Far

I don't have much right now (at least in terms that I don't keep up all year round). I haven't had much of a chance to pull out everything from storage yet. But, I do have a few things...

I got a new skull to replace my old foam one. I like this one better. It had more of a stone look that goes with some other items that I have sprinkled throughout the apartment. Plus, detail wise, it's more realistic looking.

Huzzah for Halloween candy! I actually replenished it yesterday. The pumpkin is from last year; the cute bowling pin cat is new, as is the wheat grass (going with the harvest theme that I also celebrate around this time). Also, there is a small container of Halloween ornaments, waiting to be put on the Samhain tree.

I Recommend Them

Ok, this post isn't exactly Halloween-y, per se, but I must endorse this product:

Pumpkin... spice... kisses.

Now, I know opinions are a little divided when it comes to this time of year and pumpkin spice. Some people love it, some people are sick of it. I, for one, enjoy most of the pumpkin spice products, and, ladies and gentlemen, this is definitely in my top three. They have the perfect blend of pumpkin and spice. The people at Hershey's obviously knew what they were doing, and everyone I've made try them has had a positive reaction.

I found these at Target while looking for the caramel kisses, but I'm sure they're available elsewhere as well.

We Are Now In Session...

Guess who's back????

That's right, boils and ghouls, the blog is all revamped, and I'm here for another round of Halloween time fun. I've got everything planned out, and if all goes well, this shall be smooth sailing trip down the river Styx.

To start things off, how about a nice little classic?

Staying inside, closing the curtains, A/C, and a nice piano background. I can't wait until Fall rolls around.

Sunset View

Sunset in San Diego
Been in San Diego for the past week. While I do prefer the mountains, I do get these kinds of views in the evenings. Not bad.
