Feeling A Bit Silly Today

"Murmaider" by Dethklok

Applied for another job this morning as a "Reservation Specialist" for the university. I love feeling productive before noon. Now, what to do for the rest of the day??

Horror movie marathon! Starting with Creepshow

And perhaps a bit of "Tales from the Crypt" thrown in for good measure.

Today's gonna be a good day.

And The Loves Grow

Freddy has got a new friend. One who understands the plight of not always winning.

Loki, Loki, Loki. You are now added to my collection.

Yes, droogs, I finally got to see The Avengers. I would readily watch it again. I'm not a big Marvel fan, but it was quite engaging, but I do like Iron Man. And obviously, Loki.

I also got to see Dark Shadows, as it opened this week. And.... I should have seen Avengers again. Don't get me wrong, the acting and the visuals were great, but the story line was too compact and confusing. Okay, I get there's a witch and a vampire throughout the whole movie. Why the hell is there a werewolf in the last fifteen or so minutes? It should have been a trilogy or something, but I don't know if that would have helped. Shadows was shorter than  Avengers, but it felt twice as long. Although I quite enjoyed Jackie Earle Haley's character.

Did anyone else see either movie? What were your thoughts?

Studying in the Dark

Soft, slightly depressing classical music is getting me in the mood for finals. That's all I've been doing for the past week and that's all I'm doing for the next four days. After that, my parents may or may not get surprise visit for Mother's Day. Then, more job searching. The library position is not looking to be my ticket. Now I'm eyeing a desk clerk job that promises not to get in the way of summer classes. Just got to get a cover letter done, and I'm good to go.

Perseverance, my friends!

On a sidenote, there is a high possibility I will get to see both The Avengers and Dark Shadows this weekend. Loki, Johnny Depp, and JEH! Yet again, finals are in the way.

Oh, the horror!

Na (x12)

That's right everybody, it's Batman Day. A day for fighting crime and talking in gruff voices. So let us take a moment (read: two and a half hours) to honor this hero by watching Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Tonight, let's keep the streets clean and just let Batman watch the game, mmkay?

Whoever "R. Mais" is, this is their artwork. Apparently my web searching abilities are not good enough to find them online.

Now, on to studying for finals.

Chew Until It Bleeds

"The Hand That Feeds" by Nine Inch Nails.

This has been stuck in my head. All. Week. Long. And I'm still listening to it. Never gets old.

I think I've finally found a job at a library. I applied yesterday and am currently waiting for a call or email back. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Yummy

According to the calender, today is Earth Day. A good holiday, but one that's not a lot of fun for me. One that is?

National Jelly Bean Day.

Exciting, no? This will be about two pounds I'll have to work off in the morning. Worth it? I think so.

Now I will go prepare for the sugar high I'm about to get myself on.

Sidenote: This week's theme song:

Say Hello To My Little Friend.

Punch & Judy is getting a mascot.

Say hello to JEH Freddy.

Adorable, no?

Let's Pull Out the Dictionary, Shall We?

According to my calender, it's Dictionary Day. Whether or not that's accurate, I don't know. Either way, here's your word of the day, via dictionary.com:

irriguous, adj. - well watered, as land.
"As nothing, at the opening of Spring, can exceed the luxuriant vegetation of these irriguous valleys; so, no term could be chosen more expressive of their verdure."
-- William Beckford, Vathek

Well. I learned something today. About water.

Quick! Unrelated picture of the Loch Ness Monster!

That's better.

To Get You Off Your Easter High

I have enough chocolate to motivate me to bike more often. If I get all my work done and finally find a job.

Until then, off to watch The Orphanage. I hear it's an excellent piece of Spanish work.
